Weeks of work gone.
As if they never existed.
Can you say "melt down"?
Oh, you can be assured it caused my stomach to lurch up to that point behind my eyes and I thought I was going to faint, right there, splayed out unconscious across the computer desk as a pathetic lump of utter dejection. My entire body went cold, my mouth dry and my heart very nearly stopped beating. I'm still kind of shaking over the whole traumatic experience.
Before I totally freaked, I started hunting around on my computer for the site. No go. I checked the site online, shows all the new stuff, which told me it HAD to be SOMEWHERE. I logged into my web hosting account and sure enough, it's all there. The dilemma is WHY it's not on my computer in my site folder. I spent the next twenty minutes searching the Help files, to no avail. I sent a nasty comment about that. Then I went back to my SiteBuilder software and scoped around some more. Hello "Import"! Okay, I give that a whirl.
At this moment, while I'm typing this, SiteBuilder is doing the import thing and appears to be working, importing all my new stuff into a new site folder on my hard drive. It's obviously going to take awhile as I am on the ancient internet connection system of dial-up, so the jury is still out as to whether or not I'm going to have to hunt down a Yahoo tech support phone number and rant like a crazed individual to some poor schmuck on the receiving end.
Y'all, loosing an entire website would have sent me to the looney bin. You will likely find me, huddled in the corner of a padded cell, wearing my own custom fitted bolero jacket with special buckles, eating my hair and babbling uncontrollably. Right after I've put my foot through the computer screen and then gone on a rampage of epic proportions.
But for now, I thought I'd post the finished portrait of Eve ... and maybe later today y'all will even be able to see it on my website. I'm decently pleased with the way it turned out. We artists have such a nasty habit of being our own worst critics and never seem to be satisfied with our work. So, without further adieu, may I present Eve Bergeron ...
